Free Activities
At Hatch, Our goal is to support your needs as a teacher by providing research-based products, technology and activities that enhance the development and learning experiences of the children you teach. We created the TeachSmart® Learning System to support that goal, and as a token of our appreciation for your business we would like to offer free online activities. These activities build upon the key concepts found in the TeachSmart® Learning System and give you extension ideas. Check back frequently for more free activities.
Beyond the Board
Beyond the Board activities extend math and literacy school-readiness concepts as well as science and social studies into other classroom centers. These interactive, playful and hands-on activities supplement and expand upon the topics that children learn while utilizing the TeachSmart® Learning System.
This Math Center Activity offers numerous ideas to advance children’s skills in counting by implementing tactile experiences with manipulatives and providing multiple opportunities to practice identifying numerals. Children will practice sequencing and counting from 1 through 10, 20 or 30. Activities engage children in singing and hand clapping and also encourage turn-taking and group interaction. An extension idea is provided as a scaffolding opportunity to perform with children who become more proficient in the beginning counting exercises.
